Please accept my apology for not writing for a while. There’s no other way to say it. I just haven’t written. It isn’t that we haven’t traveled, I simply quit writing.

It would be easy to make excuses, but I won’t. I hope I can trace back a bit and pick up some interesting things we have seen and tell about some interesting places we have been. Most of our trips the last few months have focused on going to see children and grandchildren. But we always take side trips to make it more interesting. In other words we take the long way home.

Our two oldest grandsons graduated from high school in May and June of 2014. One graduation was in the Nashville, TN area, but the other lives in Western PA. One grand is enrolled in Middle Tenn State Univ and plans to major in the Business of Music. The other is enrolled in The Art Institute of Pittsburgh where he has been awarded scholarships in his field. He plans to be a photographer. Maybe he’ll give me a few pointers. Both young men are very bright and talented and should have exciting careers in their fields.

It is gratifying to see how talented they are and notice that their interests fall in artistic fields. They have a deep gene pool on both sides of their parental lines which seems to have surfaced in full force … twice.

The return trip from Pittsburgh was an exciting adventure that I plan to write a post about in the next few days.

Please forgive my hiatus. We have kept rolling up miles and dialing up smiles. Remember now, we don’t count miles, we just count smiles.

Keep it between the ditches.
